1. What is MYGiving?

MYGiving is a movement to bring together Malaysians through an epic celebration of generosity.

2. What is MYGiving’s mission?

To promote an altruistic culture and prove that acts of kindness and goodwill transcend all differences in Malaysia. To make Malaysia one of the top 10 most giving countries in the world (from 13 currently according to Charities Aid Foundation’s 5-Year World Giving Index).

3. When is MYGiving?

MYGiving will run for 1 day.

4. Is MYGiving an international movement or local movement?

MYGiving is a movement by Malaysians for Malaysia and it is part of global movement called GivingTuesday

5. What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global giving movement built by individuals, families, organisations, businesses and communities in 50 countries all over the world. It is held annually the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this year on 1 December 2020. GivingTuesday harnesses the generosity of millions of people around the world to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

6. What will happen on MYGiving?

During MYGiving week, Malaysians will donate, raise funds, give time, influence, voice skills, resources or simply perform acts of kindness.

Like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas, where people from all over Malaysia will celebrate these festivals in their own way with loved ones, colleagues, school mates or communities, MYGiving will be celebrated by Malaysians giving in any way that is meaningful to them and their loved ones, colleagues, school mates or communities.

7. Is MYGiving an online or offline event?

It can be both! It can be an offline volunteer project like a beach clean-up, an online volunteer project like designing social media content for your favourite charity, an offline fundraising gala or an online peer-to-peer challenge fundraiser. We want Malaysians to experiment, collaborate and go big during the MYGiving week!

8. Why is MYGiving only 1 day, not a week?

MYGiving 2020 will start and end on the same day as GivingTuesday, which is a Tuesday.

9. Does MYGiving charge any fees?

Not at all! Participation is free and open to everyone!

10. Who can participate/partner?

Anyone! Individuals, families, companies, non-profits, social enterprises, local communities, schools or universities!

11. How do I participate?

The key to making the most out of MYGiving is to apply creativity and generosity. We ask that partners use MYGiving as an opportunity to celebrate and incentivise giving (e.g. matchfunding, donations, volunteerism, advocacy, acts of kindness) in their communities.

Yes, you can, once you have registered as a partner here. We will email you the logo.
