According to Pelan Strategik Kemajuan Orang Asli (2011), 12,000 families are currently living in unsafe housing conditions while more than 77% are classified as poor.

Founded back in 2010, Epic Homes aims to build relationships between the urban and rural divide through the act of building homes for underprivileged communities, currently focusing on the indigenous people of Peninsular Malaysia, the Orang Asli. We have worked with at least 6,000 volunteers, 10 villagers and has built 150+ homes to date – but we wish to do more.

In support of World Habitat Day and MYGiving, we have launched the #BuildOurNation campaign which aims to raise a total of RM1.5mil to help build 30 Epic Homes for 30 Orang Asli families across 3 villages in 2020.

The three villages identified are:
1.  Kampung. Gurney of Ulu Yam (13 families)
2. Kampung. Putra of Jelebu (6 families)
3. Kampung. Serigala of Hulu Bernam (11 families)

We believe that the answer to solving this issue comes from collaboration, working together to uncover new solutions & opportunities. So, let’s put aside our differences and work together, to help our forgotten brothers and sisters – our neighbours in the Orang Asli community and #BuildOurNation together!
