With the current coronavirus situation, we are all facing big changes to our daily lives. For children, the disruption in their routines can be even more scary and confusing. “Why We Have to Stay at Home” is a children’s book aimed to ease children’s anxieties around the coronavirus and suggests tips on staying happy and healthy indoors.
This book is intended to be used as a tool to help children open up about their feelings surrounding the coronavirus. To make sure this book can be accessed by every family and child, it is free to view on Instagram (@zaraliewbooks). A pdf copy can also be downloaded through the link below:
All profits will be provided to our charity partner SUKA Society – a Malaysian NGO set up to protect and preserve the best interests of children, particularly within marginalised communities. Many families in the community work odd jobs and are daily wage earners who have lost their employment as a result of MCO disruptions.
SUKA are supporting community foster parents during and after this MCO period whilst families find new employment and regain their financial footing. SUKA will be distributing basic food needs, medical and essential items so that they are able to maintain a stable foster family environment for the children in the programme. More information on SUKA can be found at www.sukasociety.org.
